The Helena Producciones curatorship, Del porqué los venenos son amargos, in a certain way reflects the situation, not only of this country but a global society who hasn’t come over its difficulties. Among the flagrant phenomenon of corruption, the inequality money distribution, plundering, the abuse of human and cultural resources, the gradual destruction of the environment, crime and military conflict, an ambiance under discussion where fear and its distortion, still on the cities, stronghold of alleged security. The scenery of society with symptoms of amnesia, isolation, alienation, abuse, predation, looting, indifference and foolishly can generate higher possibilities to take us back to decades of unbearable violence.
What results from all this review and work selection is an overview where a rural and desolate urban landscapes cross: waiting, distance, different traditions the use of technologies and fictions that try to reach a certain landscape, but they realize the absence, the looting, and the faults. All this from a very specific tone of low intensity, perhaps a bit hopeless, but at the same time calm and collected, often sinister. Many jobs have been produced in Colombia in the last two years and others look to Colombia from the distance.
The curatorial proposal is divided into eight approaches: Amnesia, Isolation, Alienation, Abuse, Predation, Plunder, Indifference and Folly.
