Since 2003, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB, as per its acronym in Spanish) has created a space called the Artecámara Program, featuring a cultural agenda that includes talks, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing the emerging artistic offerings in Bogotá. Subsequently, the program offering curated exhibitions with young artists' works expanded to the halls located at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce branches in Chapinero, Kennedy, and Salitre. As a result of the Artecámara Program’s consolidation, and in order to strengthen the promotion and circulation of visual arts, the ARTBO | Bogotá International Art Fair was established in 2004, incorporating Artecámara as one of its sections for emerging art.
Since then, the program—carried out in the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce's various locations—has adopted the name ARTBO | Salas. It is recognized as an initiative aimed at promoting the circulation and professionalization of new talents in the Bogotá arts scene and features an annual program of curated exhibitions. Throughout its evolution, and in response to the specific dynamics of its locations, ARTBO | Salas has embraced different approaches: the Chapinero branch hosted exhibition projects aligned with contemporary art and its relationship with the local gallery circuit; the Salitre headquarters welcomed experimental artistic proposals that engaged in dialogue with various disciplines such as film, design, and sound; and the Kennedy location focused on community relations and collective projects addressing social issues.
