The last decade has seen an exciting and invigorating explosion of emerging practices in Brazil, led by Afrobrazilian and indigenous practitioners who are reconsidering and indeed transcending modernist traditions. A heightened political context and the urgency of social justice and related environmental issues underscore the importance expression by new and diverse voices in the various regions of Brazil.
