This exhibition arises in response to a rarefied conjuncture, where for the last five years, the end of the armed conflict in Colombia has been officially declared, while seeking to precipitate the country into a moment of symbolic reparation amidst the bullets of an atomized war, which is maintained thanks to the actions of hundreds of armed groups at the national level. The moment of a promised peace, signed by decree in the face of the democratic refusal to endorse the agreements with the FARC, while waiting for the promise of a total peace to materialize. This is how this exhibition intends to make an anthology of the works that, in the last twenty years, have taken as their object of study the origins of the armed conflict in Colombia to form images with which to collectively understand the relationship between the present and the national past.
Desde el 2004 la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá a través del programa ARTBO se concentra en promover la circulación y profesionalización de los nuevos talentos del arte en Bogotá. Esta visión ha desarrollado una programación a lo largo del año en la sala ubicada en el centro empresarial de Chapinero.
