PANDORA'S BOX
Is beauty something old? With this question, the Spanish art critic Rosa Olivares titles an article that questions, from the reproduction of the image, precisely from photography; to what extent the concern for transmitting ideas, concepts, problems and situations that lead us to question all kinds of issues and take a position against what we see, has led us to have an excess of reality. To see the cruel, ugly, vulgar and superficial side of what we have done with the world and our interpretations, so much so that when we see an image and refer to it as something "beautiful", "nice", "interesting", it is a negative adjective. To what extent can the craft be involved as a concept in itself?
In this pop-up exhibition, Taller Trez, makes a curatorial exercise with curated images of recent years, in collaboration with different artists, where the premise of making and manual craft is the latent concept; and the mystery that encapsulates the reinterpretation of different looks from the multiple originals.
In parallel to the exhibition, we will have an open workshop for the creation of a collective graphic piece with the attendees.
