About applied chromatics and dysfunctional vibrations.

The curatorship is a direct consequence of the Zineteca-101lab's years of research in which drawing, collage, graphics - and specifically for this exhibition - pictorial language, visually reflects on questions about the artist's responsibility in relation to to the values and beliefs of the Western world. Specifically, On Applied Chromaticity and Dysfunctional Vibrations, he opts for a comment on the so-called “function of painting” and perhaps seeks to rethink the definition that has been established in the popular imagination in which an unfinished discourse of a more story is definitely placed first. extensive and also unfinished. In each of the proposals in the sample, the sum of unforeseen circumstances gives meaning and uniqueness to a solid discourse, but with high levels of plasticity. Reflections from the pictorial, conscious in turn of their capacities for subversion and disobedience, situate the practice of painting in an incredulous conceptualism that, in balance between the sense of humor and social reflection, defines the museography of the exhibition: self-criticism as exploration of our relationship with the immediate environments that are given to us.

Artist review

Santiago's artistic work arises from various concerns that are connected: from the mystery involved in the transformation and organization, rational and intuitive, intellectual and sensitive, of matter and its consequent meaning as language, as a conductor of narratives, as a carrier of meanings, towards the territory of ideas concerning art and which in turn are concerning the human being. A particular interest lies in the link between the object, which refers to its construction and elaboration, and its content. For this exhibition, it presents a series of images that, from a pictorial point of view, explore granted values that are activated and happen in our mind, act as a bearer of meaning and significance. These objects are representations and triggers of ideas. They are also the origin of multiple interpretations that magnificently multiply and enhance collective thought.
