Artecámara: Afterwards

After two years, ARTBO returns to Corferias and Artecámara returns with a virtual version and another in the Santa Fe Gallery. In general, we have the feeling that we are coming back. What are we going back to? How did everything we lived through these years change us? How did it change our way of being in the world? This selection of artists is the result of a review of 300 portfolios that reflect on our present time, on the conflictive relationship we have with the past and the distressing vision of a future that we seem to be rushing towards without a solution in mind.

After experiencing two radical ways of life stopping: the pandemic and the National Strike, we are forced to rethink our way of life, questioning the rhythms that seemed to control us and the places from which we look at and understand our current situation. The artists point out different paths of transformation in their works: from a sensitive reflection on the memory of the armed conflict and all those futures that have been skewed, to a radical transformation of the way we understand ourselves as animals and as part of an environment that we have stopped listening to.

Curator: Alexander Martin Maldonado

Alexander studied mathematics and philosophy, and found in curatorship a space for research and for sharing key issues in the contemporary context. He worked as a curator at the La Tertulia Museum (Cali), between 2014 and 2021, being part of a project to renew, revitalize and connect with the city. He was the artistic director of the 45th National Artists´ Salon that took place in Bogotá in 2019, coordinating a series of curatorships that included, in addition to exhibitions, an extensive program including actions, publications, collective and educational projects, all of which accepted the great importance of the digital space.
